What is Barcelona's Tourist Bus?

This is a tour on a modern bus which offers the opportunity to sit in the fresh air on the upper deck, (it isn't hard to have a sunny day in Barcelona)!  You can choose from two different routes, (the green route and the orange route) or, of course, you can do both from the starting point at Plaza Catalunya. The tour provides an audio guide that is available in a variety of different languages: each route takes about 2 hours and you can get on and off as often as you like to see the attractions you are particularly interested in. The buses run every 5 to 20 minutes depending on the stop and the hop on hop off service makes it possible to get on and off wherever and whenever you wish (at the stops that are marked on the tour) all on the same ticket! You can do the tour during the course of one day if you purchase a daily ticket or over 2 days if you choose the ticket for two days.  In order to book the tour, all you need to do is to fill out the simple form that you can find on this page.

The Green Route

The first stop on the green route is the Arc de Triomf and from there, the bus carries on to the elegant neighborhood of Born, passing along the green Parc de la Ciudadella with its Zoo.  After that, you will descend towards the sea until you reach the Passeig de Colom and eventually, Barcelona's modern World Trade Center which is right on the jetty. Together with your fellow travelers, you will then head inland and will be able to see where the Joan Miró foundation is located where you can get off and see the incredible art works of this world famous Catalan artist.  The tour then continues towards the Olympic Ring, the park that was constructed for the Olympic Games in 1992: you will be rendered speechless when you see the huge Olympic torch!  You will probably experience the same sensation when the bus passes in front of the Catalan National Art Museum (MNAC) which overlooks the majestic fountain and the Plaza Espanya further down.  At this point, you will find yourselves right on the top of Monjuic and you will then pass the Poble Espanyol which is the open air museum that houses a model of Spain in miniature.  After that, you will head towards the CaixaForum, the cultural center that was founded by the association of Barcelona's most famous bank and which is open to the general public together with the Mies Van Der Rohe pavilion. You will then head back towards the Plaza Espanya and will carry on on your comfortable bus until you reach Camp Nou, Barcelona's famous football stadium which is the largest in Europe.  The subsequent stops are the Plaza de Pius XII, the Royal Palace of Pedralbes (which is located in the neighborhood of the same name and is wonderfully elegant), the Güell pavilion (one of the innumerable works of the famous architect, Gaudí) and the majestic monastery of Pedralbes. To finish off, the last part of the tour will take you to Diagonal, the long avenue that effectively divides the city and then on to the Plaza Catalunya, along the Passeig de Gracia where you can admire both the Casa Milá Casa Batlló.

The Orange Route

The Orange Route will take you first to the Gothic Quarter with its imposing Cathedral and then on to the famous Port Vell. The next stop is the Catalan History Museum and following on from there, the bus will head towards the vibrant district of Barceloneta. From here, you will carry on to the Olympic Harbor, and on to the beaches of Bogatell and Nova Mar Bella. The sightseeing tour continues on to the Forum, in the Glòries district where you can admire the peculiar Torre Agbar. It would be impossible not to include a stop at the Sagrada Familia but equally unmissable are the modern Sant Pau Centre and the marvellous Park Güell. To finish off, the bus continues on to Tibidabo and then heads back to the Plaza Catalunya passing two of Gaudí's masterpieces on the way, the Casa Milà and Casa Batlló.
